I was left speechless by the swearing in of the "unity" government in Zimbabwe several weeks ago and again after the car accident (?) that killed the wife of Prime Minister Morgan Tsvangirai and injured him on Friday.  Zimbabweans and those who care about her people are in grief.

May her soul rest in peace.

It's a most untimely demise of such a promising Mother of the Nation. God created Heaven and Earth according to His Will and God has spared Morgan so that he continues to guide Zimbabweans. It's oh so painful yet we have to accept it

Susan Tsvangirai was the finest Zimbabwean ever. She was quiet but worked hard to support her husband, carry food to  hundreds of detained MDC members   who were  languishing  in Mugabe's jails where they were tortured. She never tired or rested -- right up to the day she  passed away. She was Zimbabwe's biblical Dorcas!  May her soul rest in peace.

The Chief Representative and Deputy Chief Representative of the Movement for Democratic Change in the United States of America wish to express our heartfelt condolences to President Morgan Tsvangirai, his children and all members of his family on the tragic loss of Mrs. Susan Tsvangirai. She has been a pillar of strength not only to Morgan but to the entire MDC and all Zimbabweans who have been at the forefront of the struggle for the restoration of democracy and the rule of law. When her husband was brutally assaulted and imprisoned and when other MDC activists were given the same brutality, she was always there to comfort them and give their families the support they needed.

We mourn her untimely passing. Zimbabwe has lost a gallant freedom fighter. In the past decade, she demonstrated a fortitude that will always be a shining example to all those who desire a free and democratic future for Zimbabwe. She will be missed but she will always be a positive influence for generations to come.

Handel Mlilo, Chief Representative

Ralph Black, Deputy Chief Representative, Washington DC and Texas, USA.

Mrs Tsvangirais death is a sad loss both to the MDC party and to the nation as a whole. Mrs. Tsvangirai epitomized and symbolized the resilience that the Zimbabwean women and people have, as she stood behind her husband through thick and thin and visited MDC cadres in Zimbabwean prisons. She was resolute and humble but did not avail herself to the cameras as you would expect of people in her position. Zimbabweans of all walks of life are in pain for losing such a pillar of strength in our continuing fight for change in Zimbabwe. May her soul Rest in Peace

Mrs. Tsvangirayi was a decent woman, fit to be the mother of our nation. She had the stature and bearing of a first lady. We have been robbed. We lost a great woman and supporter of democracy and the rock that our Mr. President Tsvangirayi stood on.
This should be the beginning of a new chapter in our fight for democracy. Let  us not allow all this blood to be spilled for naught.
I grieve with the peace and democracy loving people of Zimbabwe.

MDC-T North American Province sends condolences to Tsvangirai’s family

Members of the MDC-T’s North American Province  of the Movement for Democratic Change have learned with shock and grief the news that MDC-T president, Morgan Tsvangirai, was injured and his wife, Susan, died in a car crash yesterday.

We send our wishes for a speedy recovery and condolences to  President Tsvangirai, his family, relatives, and colleagues in the MDC-T.

Mrs. Tsvangirai (pictured) was  beloved and highly respected by the freedom loving people in not only Zimbabwe but around the world.

Mrs. Tsvangirai always supported the campaign to bring democracy, the rule of law and basic human rights to the embattled Zimbabweans.

She  not only stood by, and supported, her husband but she visited and brought food to the detained supporters of the MDC-T.

At the time of writing this statement, full information  about the circumstances surrounding this accident is still not very clear.

We call upon a full and transparent investigation into the circumstances that led to the car crash.

May Mrs. Tsvangirai’s  soul rest in peace.
